“Continuity gives us roots; change gives us branches, letting us stretch and grow and reach new heights.”  ~Pauline R. Kezer

Do you look forward to change? Change can seem intimidating, whether it is voluntary or due to circumstances beyond our control. As humans we seem to be naturally resistant to doing things differently; we like comfort. Even conditions can that are not for our highest good can feel comfortable because they are familiar.

The fact is though, that without change, we would literally cease to exist. A pond with no inlet or outlet becomes stagnant and will not support life. If you become stagnant, you will suffer and eventually become ill.

So how can you learn to navigate changes skillfully and even appreciate and invite change in your life? One way is to work with a Life Coach who will support you in a non-judgmental way throughout your journey.

What is a Life Coach?

As a Life Coach, I have been trained to help creative, resourceful people reach their highest potential. Coaching guides and supports you to:

        ~ Clarify your purpose
~ Identify & achieve positive goals, and
~ Evolve into you ideal self

A coach is not a mentor or consultant, but rather the co-creator of a powerful relationship. The coaching relationship is like a chrysalis in which you can safely melt down, dream big, rebuild, and emerge with a new set of skills to maintain your momentum.

How Does Coaching Work?

In each meeting, the client chooses the focus of conversation, while the coach uses deep listening skills and contributes candid observations and powerful questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client into awareness and action.

You, as the client, must be willing to take risks and face some challenges along the way. A personal trainer does not lift weights for you, nor will I do the work required for your transformation. It may seem intimidating at first, but as you become more comfortable with the change process, your confidence will increase.

What is Life Purpose Coaching?

All qualified coaches use a set of powerful coaching skills and tools to do their job. As a Life Purpose Coach, I use these skills as well as some tools that are designed to focus not only on what you would like to do, but also on who you would like to become, while being conscious of the interrelatedness of mind, body, and spirit.

For example, if you are considering a career change, in our coaching partnership we might look not only at what strengths, skills and interests you have, but also other things, such as:
~ What will this type of change mean in terms of the overall balance of your life?
~ What is it that brings the most joy to your life, and how can you increase this quality?
~ How can you asses your core values and move toward putting those values into action?
~ How might a particular change affect you and/or your family in terms of physical, mental, & emotional well-being?

Is coaching therapy?

A life coach is not a therapist or counselor; life coaching is not intended to treat pathology or other psychological disorders. However, life coaching can work in conjunction with therapy to support the achievement of specific goals or outcomes.
